The most important connection

When we are on holidays, we all hope the weather is good for outdoor activities.

However, sometimes weather has her own plan.

We are in Jeju island for a vacation. It rains. We decide to go out anyway.

There are not many people at tourist site due to the rain obviously. Then I see this family of three generations: grandma, her daughter and son-in-law, and her two grandchildren.

The grandma holds an umbrella to cover her and her daughter who holding a young kid. The husband walks with other kid wearing rain coats hand in hand leading the way.

They are chatting, laughing cheerfully in the rain. Contrast to others seem in a hurry, they are no hurry at all.

If you have the connection with the most important people in your life, they are the whole world to you. Nothing else matters that much. Rain does not matter too much to the happily connected family.

How many the most connected moments do you have daily? Find them. Treasure them. Live in those moments.

A new trip

You get excited before a new trip.

You get worried about the new trip

You get overworked preparing for the new trip.

You get anxious before the new trip.

You also get comrades going with you. This changes everything how you feel about the trip.

Now you get people understand you, your worried, and your ambitions.

Take a trip less traveled with like minded people makes things much bearable during tough times. It makes a trip much more excited and encouraging at the same time. And the best of all, you will finish the trip.

Find your comrades before a new trip can make a difference.

Grateful

I am grateful today for encountering many people today,

I invited myself and a colleague for a national conference. I am grateful that the organizers allowed me crashed the conference and gave me the opportunity to meet so many industry leaders.

I am grateful for meeting so many interesting people with diverse backgrounds and personalities.

I am grateful for knowing the colleague much better during this brief trip.

I am grateful for learning this new meeting place better.

Some times, you need to create a “potential risk” to do something different, out of ordinary to find the beauty and make new connections among our society and community.

We are in nature wanting to know others and get connected.

I am grateful that we can make a difference if we want to. People are kind in nature.

Value is the focus for your life and business

We are born with values.

Values are the reasons why we exist, why we are whom we are, why we live our life, why we do what we do daily.

You are successful when you demonstrate a high value to the society, to your community, to others.

When you focus on express your values, you live a rich life, a colorful life, a magnetic life. You’ll be more connected, attractive and impactful to others.

The same principle applies to a business operation.

A business exists, because it has products and service people need. And value is the reason for those products and services to exist in the marketplace. Focusing on value can help your business sustainable. Every company is in business to fulfill a need, to provide a value – plain and simple.

Synchronization

According to Wikipedia, the definition of Synchronization is the coordination of events to operate a system in unison.

A synchronized event can be a negotiation.

What is the one event above different from the rest?

Yes, you may see it already – it is the negotiation event.

During a negotiation, there are unpredictabilities, no matter how well you’ve prepared before hand.

To get synchronized towards the goal during a negation, the team members in a team need have aligned views, know each other’s spoken and unspoken languages, cover and support each other during the process, stay on the pre-decided course and read the teammates minds… The teammates have trust with other, experience to handle unpredictables, are observant to each other’s hints (body languages and meaning between the lines).

A synchronized negation is a beautiful team dynamic in action, an ideal team work.

A synchronized team can go forward strong for a long long long way.

The problem with being nice

In a corporate setting, you may hear saying like, “He is a nice guy”, “That is nice”, “This is nicely done”…

What is it exactly nice referring here? There is a problem with being nice.

Being nice is a default mode. It is not the same as being kind and sweet and good.

Being nice is hiding – hiding your true comment, your true self, your true intention in a corporate setting.

The opposite of being nice is being mean. We are not talking being mean here. We are talking that you need to be who you are with your character.

We like you even though you may be stubborn, we like you even though you may be very direct, we like you even though you may be aggressive… you see the pattern here: we like you as a person being who you are.

A company’s development and suitability need all kinds of people, from various disciplines, different backgrounds… the diversity and character make a difference.

Being nice is not a mode where any company or person wants to hang on.

Being yourself, with your unique character, live truly.
