Yesterday

Yesterday was the best day in your life.

Yesterday was the most successful day in your life.

What you have from yesterday can bring you sweet memory, can expend your experience, can give you strength to be successful again in future.

But,

Yesterday’s greatness will not guarantee tomorrow’s glory. What got you here will not bring there.

Just like yesterday’s sunshine will not dry today’s wet cloth. Yesterday is gone forever.

You have to get up and step forward continuously, no matter what happens. You have to restart your new day, every day, with a sunshine mindset.

Treasure yesterday, Embrace today, walk strongly towards to tomorrow.

What is the freedom feel like?

Many people pursue freedom in their life, actually freedom may be the top life goal for many many people.

We crave for freedom to do things we’d like to do, to live the life we choose to live, to be the person we want to be…

So, if you have the freedom, what is the freedom feel like now?

Someone answered me like this: “When I have the feeling of freedom, I always feel I am growing bigger, enormous, and stretched from extremities to all directions – like a spider net without boarder and I am part of the net.

The connection, be able to express myself, being useful… these give me the feeling of freedom.”

Again, take a moment and feel the freedom in you. What does it feel like?

Success is a kind of feeling…

We all want to have success.

Success is mistakenly labeled as the end of the journey, the destination, the place you can happily live after…

But,

Success is a kind of feeling. Success is a moving target. Success is a sense of achievement at one stage of your life. Your life moves on, so you always can reach your next success down the road.

When you are success, it’s great that you have embodied your capability and skills now for certain things you’ve done. However, what got you here, may not get you there. This success can’t guarantee your next success.

The good news is that you were successful once, you have better chance to do it again. You can copy what you’ve succeeded for other things you want to do.

The key is to keep your momentum of success. Make it sustainable. Make it a habit.

A sense of success is a wonderful feeling after all.

One connection at a time

What is the number one important thing in our life?

Relationship.

We live in a society, in a community, in a family. We are social animals. No one lives in vacuum.

Only when we have good relationships with people around us, with surroundings, we feel happy. We can get support. We feel connected.

Therefore, get connections and build relationships are essential for having a quality life.

It’s tricky to connect people. This needs you to get under people’s skin, have empathy, produce influence. This takes time to learn, practice. But it’s totally worthy it.

Be patient. Build one connection at a time. Over time, these connections are becoming a net. As the net becomes bigger, you grow stronger.

What would you do if you have the permission?

One question is being asked:

“If you have the permission to create, to speak up, to be generous, to fail… what would you do?

What comes to your mind when you see the question?

Just pause for a moment and reflect: how many things you do that you are waiting or seeking for permission… check how many of them limits your creativity, how many of them do not reflect your personal identification, how many of them limit your kind initiatives, internal desire and your freedoms…

Image – tomorrow morning you get up. You are entitled the permission to do anything under the law.

What would be one thing you can do at this moment that you will not need permission any more for once?

Then do it.

If you can do something ONCE without permission, you can do this twice, three times, and more times…

Break a routine needs break that routine thinking. It needs awareness, courage, and execution to get new experience, momentum, and transformation.

Go to do ONE thing today that you no longer need the permission.

3 Words for Acceptance

We are sometimes in situations where we are hurt or injured, we are stuck in a traffic going no where, we are mistreated…

What do we do?

Get mad? Get sad? Get sorry for yourself?

One formula to deal with the situations – give yourself five minutes to get rid of your steam, five minutes, that’s it! After that, you need get back to your life, pull off yourself together, forget about what had happened, because you can’t change it.

So remember three words: can’t change it!

Then accept it, move on.

Use the three words as anchor to transfer your energy and emotional power to things you need to do, the life you need to live.

Because you can’t change anything that had happened. Do something new. Change your situation. Refocus yourself for things make your life better.

Your arrow in a bow…

You have your arrow in a bow. And you are about to shoot it…

How far is your target?

If your target is within certain distance and you aim it well, your arrow will be on the target. However, if your target is too far, your arrow is not going to get there…

This is like your goal setting. If you set your goal too far ahead, you are not going to get there. You need to set up your goal close enough, so that you can reach it.

What is your goal setting look like?

Be quiet

We are living in a very noise environment, literally there is loudly sound at malls, in buses, restaurants…

And the fast- paced world distracts us from our focus, our quiet time, makes our mind spin.

We response automatically to things happening to us and around us, because there is little time to think.

Our time is robbed by constant outside distractions, demands and requests. We feel busy every day. It actually gives us a super facial sense of accomplishment…

… till one day,

one day we suddenly feel somewhat empty, realize that we don’t know how to think any more.

We are so good at responding, it becomes our second nature – our habit. We are drifting in life.

We forget who we are, what we want, how to create our values…

This is the time when you need a quite time.

Be quiet.

Listen to your heart: what makes you happy? Who you are? What is your dream? What do you want?

If you want to do one thing today that gives you a big smile, put your mark on it, what would it be?

Listen to your mind: what can make you sing, smile and jump out of bed in the morning? Do one such thing today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow…

Find a quiet moment every day.

In the quiet, you will find yourself again.

  • The quiet mind is a powerful mind.
  • The quiet mind is a clear mind.
  • The quiet mind is the permeate source and engine house for you to discover your endless potential.

Just be quiet.

You are the sum of your action

We have dreams. We pint beautiful pictures for our future. We make plans, New Year’s resolutions and promises.

These are good to certain extent. They can make us excited, happy and satisfied momentarily.

Then we get back to where we are, do as we usually do, talk as we normally talk, go the same route back and forth from home to work place.

And we get numbed, bored, and day dreaming our dreams, future and plans.

Only when you take action towards your dream, your resolutions and your plans, you will be a bit closer to them. You will make a little bit change to your life. You will impact a little bit to the people and environment you’ve reached.

A thousands of miles starts with one step at a time.

This is how you can make a difference to your life. Your action will spill over to others and make others’ life different.

The world needs solid people. The world needs people working on their dreams little by little, bit by bit, drip and drip, generously and graciously and empathetically and compassionately.

You become more valuable because you make others more valuable.

After all, you are the sum of your action.

What is being open-minded?

We say to be open is a pleasant trait. Therefore, we all strive to be an open-minded person.

What is exactly being open-minded?

Being open is an altitude. It’s an altitude towards work and life. Being open provides you more opportunity to see things in many angles, with more possibilities and options. It also provides you more opportunities to connect with people, to get closer to the truth of a matter, to get more accuracy to do things.

Does open-minded mean you have to listen to others all the time? Most of the time? Or some of the time?

It really depends…

Being a leader, you may need to be more open in order to get fuller evaluation of a situation. Therefore, you will get better judgement and reduce the chance for potential risk. You can make decisions quickly for smaller things, but with open discussion and debate for bigger (fewer) decisions.

Jeff Bezos said “People who are right a lot listen a lot, and they change their mind a lot.”

He believes that if you do not change your mind frequently, you are going to be wrong a lot.

Therefore, being open means you need to be ready to change your minds, to face tough situations, to embrace the pain to grow stronger.

Being open-minded is not a show. It gets to be from the bottom of your heart. Only then, you can learn, grow, and get better for what you do.

Live truly for yourself with a growth-mind, ie, an open-mind.
